Easter Generosity

The Easter Bunny came this year and, as per tradition, hid eggs around the house.  Welcome spring, everybody!

Easter 2012 shall forever more be remembered as the day we managed to find and fix not one, but two bad leaks in our water line, and, thanks to the generosity of the PUD technician, did not have to hire a plumber, spending only $5 for a replacement part.  In fact, we've felt very grateful lately for the kindness of strangers, as well as for the generosity of neighbors.  We are feeling the love!

Hop to it

The Easter Bunny hopped on by, hiding some eggs, and an Easter basket for Silas:
Have you ever tried to find a chocolate Easter bunny without dairy? I didn't actually succeed, but I did find a chocolate Easter bear that, according to the ingredients list, was milk free. He gobbled it up later in the day with no apparent ill effects other than a tremendous sugar rush, but what he was most happy about, was this:
After sorting through his goodies, we proceeded to the egg hunt, which took place inside this year, due to the fact that kiddo was pretty sick.
Easter also brought this astonishing site:
While the moment did not last long, there was only a minimum of growling. Was it just an Easter-Day Truce, or the beginnings of a slightly less hostile relationship? We shall have to wait and see.

Home on Easter

What better way to celebrate our new house than to have an Easter egg hunt around the yard. Silas was really engaged in the process this year, and as you can see, just thrilled every time he found an egg:
A view of the north part of our property. Future home of fruit trees:
Silas watched his Dad saw the gutters yesterday in order to install these extensions. I couldn't resist hiding an egg in one of them:
We dyed the eggs yesterday afternoon. Silas insisted on wearing his worker hat so that his head wouldn't get too hot while handling the eggs. Not sure what that was about...
Our stash:
The only problem we encountered was that 7 eggs was just not enough and Silas was not ready to call in quits after we'd found them all. Next year, we'll have to step it up!

I will have more pictures of the house as time permits. The Book of the Month will have to be on hiatus for April, but expect a good one in May.

Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter!

Patrick and Shannon dyed these eggs for Silas ("Goober" is what Patrick calls Silas). As you can see, I let him handle them a bit. He only smashed one :)
