Backtracking: forgotten summer photos

There's so much that I haven't posted yet from this summer, so here's a combo-post for you.

Silly boy:
We went to the Underwater Naval Museum. Silas LOVED being on a sub, which he was (sort of).
What little kid wouldn't love to see this:
We got an awesome farm table for FREE! We love it!
We went to Port Townsend, several times.
While there, we got to watch a boat being made at the Wooden Boat Foundation.
And we hung out...basking in the sun, while there's still sun to bask in.

Our Dad's Day tradition

Here's a picture post in honor of Father's Day, featuring my boys, out and about in Port Townsend.
PT is our destination of choice for Father's Day, though it is 10 shades of awesome any day of the year.
Hope all the dads out there had a great day :)

Port Townsend, again

Nothing earth-shattering to report at this time. We're doing lots of house projects and going through the daily routine. Here's a couple of pictures I never got around to posting from a trip up to Port Townsend about a month ago.

Searching for treasures on the beach:
Better Living Through Coffee: Way more than coffee. Locavore's dream. Reason enough to drive the hour up to PT:

Is that a smile or a grimace? Actually, it's the g-force he's getting hit with as he takes his rocket into outer space (he insisted I take a picture of the "launch").
Till next time...

Daddy's Day pics

It seems we are starting a tradition of spending Father's Day up in Port Townsend. Drew's Mom has been visiting since last Friday, and we had a lovely time with her in what is one of our favorite towns. It being Father's Day, I mainly took pictures of my two boys. It seems almost every picture I took of the three of them together had someone blinking or giving a sour look. I found them amusing and was tempted to post them anyways, but I knew I'd get grief. So, I'll have to take more pictures of Grandma G and Silas and post them later on...

15 Months Old

I decided Silas needed a giraffe sweater in honor of him turning 15 months old, so I made this little number for him. He likes to point to the giraffe and it seems to make him smile. You are welcome to check out a few more pictures and info on the making of this sweater on my knitting blog, here.
Silas is a pretty slim guy, but he still has those chubby baby legs that just make me melt.
And this is a pretty common view we have a Silas now-a-days. I think it's safe to say that he can run now as well as walk.
Silas has gotten to the point where he is starting to make up signs. For instance, I asked him to say "hat" and he put both hands on his head. He's been doing that consistently ever since, even though we never taught him how to say that word. We've also noticed that he sometimes babbles not only vocally, but with his hands as well.

I blogged several times over the weekend, so if you are not an obsessive Planet Silas reader and you haven't stopped by in a while, be sure to read on.

Dad's Day

Since it was Father's Day today, Drew got to choose what he wanted to do. His choice--head up to Port Townsend for the day.

Lovely, lovely day.

Port Townsend is nice

We went to Port Townsend last Sunday. I kind of love that town. The boys seem to enjoy it as well. Last time we were there, Silas had just discovered his feet. He now uses them to walk! We walked around with him, holding onto his arms as he picked his feet up off the ground and swung them out in front of him, laughing hysterically. Compare then and now.
